Monticule

In 1991, after many years of being left untouched, the tourist Residence Domaine de Gayfié, a big piece of land in the south of France was reinstalled.
In 2001, a lovely lady called Lilo took over the place and 14 years later, her son Richard and his greenhorn friends decided to organise a slightly oversized home party with international booking on top of that hill and called it „Monticule“. The baby has grown a bit. It has become a place that allows you to take a break, lose yourself in the music, enjoy the sun and to reconnect with your true self.
Inspired by the people that we saw at the festival, we had the idea to document all of their faces in a series of portraits. The following year we returned to the festival and completed the project with a video in the same style.
This project was created in Collaboration with Alina Karl.
